Recycled Granite Pavers and Building Materials – Stone Recyclers

What is Recycled Granite?

Recycled granite utilizes waste taken from counter-top fabricators. Kitchen counters or other pieces of stone supplied by fabricators have cuts that are removed from a larger slab to fit installation requirements. The leftover pieces from that slab usually end up in a landfill. We have developed a process to re-use this waste material and turn it into something beautiful- pavers, split stone and other products. This means 100% of our products are recycled and can be used for “green building” qualifying for LEED tax credits.

Do you crush the granite up then mold it into shapes?

No- All of our products are solid stone the way nature made them. We have state-of-the-art equipment to cut the different shapes and sizes out of waste pieces. Mother Nature spent millions of years to produce the many beautiful colors of stone we work with and we do not add any additional processes to detract from the look of natural stone. Any waste we have left over can be crushed and used as fill underneath the pavers or as decorative rock.

Does Recycled Granite Fade?

No- Recycled granite does not have any coloring added to it so the color will not fade or chip off like some man made pavers such as tumbled concrete.

Is Recycled Granite as strong as traditional concrete pavers?

Recycled granite pavers are generally 3 to 5 times stronger than traditional concrete pavers with a PSI rating of 15,000 to 23,000 (depending on the particular color granite) compared to 3,000 to 5,000 PSI for concrete.

Is Recycled Granite slippery?

No- the polished side that you normally see on a counter-top is placed face down leaving a textured surface to walk on that is slip resistant either wet or dry.

How are the pavers installed?

Our Recycled granite pavers can be installed in a wet bed over existing concrete because of the slim 1.25” profile or in a dry application with stone and sand or stone and grit. Polymeric sand is used to fill the joints locking the pavers into place.

What kind of applications can recycled granite be used for?

Driveways, walkways, patios, around pools, fire-pits, backsplashes, walls, veneer for buildings, indoor floor covering, and anything else your imagination can think of.

Does Recycled Granite Qualify for LEED credits?

Yes- all of our granite products are made from 100% recycled materials, making it a fully sustainable building product, environmentally safe, all natural and aesthetically appealing.

Does Stone Recyclers of a warranty?

Yes- All of our products carry a lifetime warranty. This warranty covers the pavers/tiles themselves against breakage. Since each piece is unique in color, we can only provide a similar color match. The warranty does not cover any labor involved in replacing damaged stone. This warranty is in effect once your installation is complete and registered with us.
